Just received word that Top Rung Brewing is poised to release a new beer: Chief Hefe, a German-style hefeweizen. In Spanish, the term el jefe refers to the chief, or the boss, and in English is pronounced like the first part of hefeweizen, so I suppose you could translate the name of the beer to mean the chief boss. Whatever the case, here’s the release announcement from the brewery.
Top Rung Brewing Releases ‘Chief Hefe’ on June 4th
On June 4th, we will release a new beer that our head brewer, Tyler Mathis, has been working on and recently brewed on our 10 bbl brewhouse. Chief Hefe is a German Hefeweizen and comes in at 5.4% ABV and 30 IBU and is a great beer to relax and enjoy as we head into some warmer weather.
A traditional Hefeweizen, Chief Hefe is cloudy in appearance with higher carbonation, tastes and aromas of fruity banana, clove, and some may note a slight aroma of bubblegum.
Packaging available for Chief Hefe includes ½ bbl keg, 1/6 bbl keg, and 16 oz cans.
