It’s hard to wrap my brain around it, but 15 years ago, The Beer Junction opened its doors in West Seattle. Initially, it was just a bottleshop—no draft beer. A significant change occurred in 2012 when the business moved around the corner to its current location on California Avenue. That is when The Beer Junction became not only a great bottleshop but also a great beer bar.
To commemorate the anniversary, The Beer Junction has teamed up with Human People Beer, one of the city’s newest breweries, to create a collaboration beer: a West Coast IPA. This beer will be available on tap and in cans starting Thursday, June 26, at 5 p.m. They describe the anniversary beer as San Diego-ish and somewhat old-school. The hop bill includes Simcoe from Yakima Chief Hops, Chinook and Crystal from CLS Farms, and Dank Dive Columbus Cryo.
“We’ll be kicking it off this Thursday at 5 p.m. and the party will run all weekend,” said the announcement. “We’ll have a smash burger pop-up on Thursday and Saturday, and will be doing our monthly bike ride on Saturday afternoon. We hope you’ll join us to celebrate this milestone and hang out so we can thank you for your continued support!”
Expressing gratitude, the announcement from The Beer Junction said, “It truly means the world to see that these rad humans [at Human People Beer] stepped in pretty late in the game to take on this project when something else fell through, especially considering how busy they’ve been working day and night to get their own beer cafe open at the same time.”
