The rise of non-alcoholic beer means you no longer need to compromise on flavor just because you’re skipping the alcohol. Even if you’re cutting back, driving, training for a race, or simply want something cold without the next-day consequences, these are the best alcohol-free beers to reach for in summer 2025. These are all under 0.5% ABV and full of character!
1. Lucky Saint Unfiltered Lager
This is one of the most consistent non-alcoholic beers on the UK market. Brewed in Bavaria but marketed from the UK, Lucky Saint has achieved that rare balance: clean enough to drink ice-cold straight from the bottle but with enough character to hold its own poured into a glass! It’s unfiltered, which gives it a cloudy appearance and slightly richer mouthfeel than your average lager.
On the nose, expect cereal notes with a little citrus sharpness. Taste-wise, there’s a mix of lemon zest, soft hops, and a bready backbone that finishes dry. Lucky Saint works just as well at a picnic as it does in a pub garden. And it’s widely available, from pubs and supermarkets to corner shops and online delivery services.
2. The Schoff, Vault City x Mash Gang
Mash Gang has been pushing boundaries in the UK’s non-alcoholic beer scene for a few years now, and this 2025 collaboration with Vault City might be their most summery yet! The Schoff is a nod to Schöfferhofer’s grapefruit weisse, but reimagined in Vault City’s fruited sour style – and with zero booze! On the first sip, you get a blast of sweet citrus, backed up by that typical Vault City acidity and a smooth, sherbety finish.
Unlike many NA beers that struggle to mask their thinness, The Schoff feels full-bodied and satisfying. Drink it when you’d normally reach for a radler, or if you want something bold and tart that stands up to spicy food. Available from craft beer shops and Vault City’s site.
3. BRULO Lust for Life DDH IPA
For anyone who thinks non-alcoholic beers are too bland, this is a reminder that hops do a lot of the heavy lifting. BRULO’s double dry-hopped IPA leans into tropical flavors, mango, grapefruit, and pine, all with a decent bitterness that lingers just long enough!
Lust for Life is a well-bodied drink, as compared to many alcohol-free beers, which are empty. The carbonation is perfect, the aroma jumps out of the can, and the pseudo-sweetness is absent, not to pollute the hop character. It serves as a fine choice once you have gotten accustomed to hazy IPAs or those of the West Coast type and seek something resembling the same level of depth.
4. Athletic Brewing, Upside Dawn Golden Ale
A US import that’s now available in many parts of the UK, Upside Dawn is softer and maltier than the more hop-forward NA beers. Its base is a bit like a biscuit with some citrus creamy top notes, so not too far removed in character from a traditional English golden ale, well, at least to those found on racking days, and not too far either in terms of character from the many non-alcoholic beers in the market!
It is not watery, nor is it sweet or overtly bitter. It is simply a drink; it goes down gently, there is a nice finish, and the carbonation is soft, not causing you to get a bloated tummy. It makes it perfect to drink in the summer at lunchtime or a garden party when you need something not too big so as not to overpower food. This is another gluten-removed one, which can be nice in case you don’t want gluten and still want to drink something that represents a real pint.
5. Mikkeller Limbo Raspberry
To go a little lighter and fruitier, there is always the Mikkeller Limbo series. The raspberry is the most summer-friendly and contains a sharp berry with a luscious, rounded finish. Its tartness is tasted first, and then a very mild sweetness remains on the tongue.
Rather like many fruited non-alcoholic alternatives, which are too reminiscent of syrupy brews, this is still beer-like. If you’re a fan of Berliner Weisse or other kettle sours, this will taste familiar, just with the volume turned down a little!
6. Days Pale Ale
Brewed in Scotland with local water and 100% natural ingredients, Days Pale Ale feels like a proper pub drink. It has the malt base you’d expect from a traditional pale, but with enough floral hop character to give it dimension.
There’s no weird aftertaste, no excessive carbonation, and no need to “make excuses” for it being alcohol-free. It pours well, with a golden amber hue and decent head retention, and has a satisfying dryness.
No matter if you’re sober for health reasons or want to kick habits like drinking or looking for a new casino online, this is an alcohol-free beer that’ll have you questioning why you drank in the first place!
7. Big Drop Poolside DDH IPA
Big Drop has one of the widest ranges of alcohol-free beers in the UK, but Poolside stands out for summer. It’s a hazy DDH IPA packed with tropical flavors and balanced bitterness that stops it from tipping into fruit juice territory. This is a beer for people who like the juicy, East Coast-style IPAs. It’s low in sweetness and has a slightly resinous edge that keeps it grounded. The mouthfeel is soft, and the hop character comes through clearly even when chilled. It’s a great option for beach trips or summer festivals where you want something flavorful but need to stay sharp.
No Booze, No Problem
Beer isn’t just for alcohol drinkers anymore! There are so many alcohol-free options on the market that can enable you to chill out without the risk of a hangover.
We’ll cheer for that!
