New brewery and taproom opens today
After passing some final inspections, Top Down Brewing is ready to welcome the public to its brand new brewery and taproom in Sumner, Washington.
“We are proud to announce our grand opening is set for Friday, August 20,” the company said on Facebook. “We will be open from 2:00 – 10:00 P.M. (12:00 – 8:00 P.M. on Sunday) and cannot wait to serve all of our amazing flavors to everyone.”
Here are a few things you should know about Top Down Brewing:
Beers are served from overhead serving tanks, as we described in a previous post about Bellevue Brewing, which will also use the same kind of tanks at its new location.
“We are starting off with seven tanks, but eventually we’ll have 11,” says Chad Cray, the Co-Owner/Head Brewer. “They run over the bar plus the taproom. We are super excited to be the first ones to use the tanks in the region (based on conversations with the company that makes them).”
They will pour the beers in 20-ounce glasses, which ensures that each 16-ounce pint is a true pint, while also leaving room for head.
Top Down Brewing’s taproom offers indoor seating as well as sidewalk and patio seating. Beer-only taproom. Not a pub. The taproom is all-ages.
They’ll have a nice array of beers on tap for the opening. You’ll have to visit to verify, but expect to find a pilsner, a pale ale, an IPA, an amber, a hefeweizen, and a stout.
The brewery is located in a brand new building, adjacent to some recently completed apartments (The Main Apartments + Lofts).
