It's time: Optimism Brewing bowing out, Stoup Brewing moving in

Optimism Brewing’s last day open is this Saturday, August 19th. Thereafter, Stoup Brewing will take over the brewery and taproom in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood. See our previous story about this development. Here’s the deal with this transition period.

Optimism Brewing’s Swan Song

True to form, Optimism Brewing will spend its last days benefiting a worthwhile cause. It’s what they do. This Friday and Saturday they’ll work to raise funds for Maui Strong.

“Help us close out the last 8 years with a bang!” said the announcement on social media. “The folks of Maui need help and we want to contribute where we can. With it being our final week, we’ll be hosting a garage sale for all merchandise, glassware, and even hosting a raffle to raise proceeds for Maui Strong.”

This Friday and Saturday, they’ll have a table set up where any remaining merchandise can be purchased at a discounted rate.
They will raffle off two of their neon Optimism signs and two branded barrels on casters. Raffle tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20. You don’t need to be present to win. They’ll contact the winners Saturday evening.
We’ll be donating $1 per pint sold, so help us raise as much as we can!

Stoup Brewing is Moving In

They’re looking at a quick turnaround. Optimism Brewing closes on Saturday night and Stoup Brewing moves in right away. The plan is to shut down for three days while Stoup stoupifies the place. Probably a lot of paint involved.

“We will open our doors at 3:00 on Wednesday 8/23,” said Lara Zahaba, one of Stoup Brewing’s founders and owners. “We are proud to also note that Optimism’s taproom crew is moving forward with us, so familiar faces will be pouring our pints. The Food Truck program remains in place. We are working on a website page that will be in place by Wednesday.”
