Here’s what’s happening on the local beer scene this weekend (March 19-21). If you know of something else going on, leave a post and share the news. As usual, we’ll be out there somewhere. Friday
- Odin Brewing Grand Opening – One of Seattle’s newest brewers will open its tasting room today from 3:00 – 7:00. The brewery and tasting room are located in South Park (map). They will also be launching a new beer today: Freya’s Gold (a Kolsch style ale).
Saturday
- Brouwer’s Cafe Hard Liver Barleywine Festival – Doors open Saturday at 11:00. In the past, there has been a line of people waiting to get in when they open. Expect a crowd and expect a great selection of big, bold barleywines.
- Foggy Noggin Brewing Grand Opening – Another of the area’s newest brewers opens its tasting room Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in Bothell (map). The official hours are 1:00 – 4:00. They intend to be open to the public on select Saturdays.
- 99 Bottles, Merchant duVin, Samuel Smith’s Tasting Party. Down in Federal Way (map), 99 Bottles offers you a chance to meet John Gilroy of Merchant du Vin. They’ll be sampling organic products from Samuel Smith’s Brewery, including a pale ale, a lager, three different fruit beers, and an apple cider). The event runs from 2:00 – 5:00.
Sunday
- Pike Brewing Beer Dinner at the Red House – Renton’s Red House Beer and Wine Shoppe and Tapas Bar welcomes Pike Brewing for a very special beer dinner with Pike’s owner/visionary Charles Finkel. 6:00 – 8:00. Call for details and reservations. 425-226-2666. (map)

Crystal Mountain. Brewfest on the Mountain, Sat. 20th, 1:00 – 4:00. A hard day of skiing/riding and a delicious sampling of beers from Widmer, Redhook, Kona, Alaskan, Georgetown, Mac and Jack and more.
