The organizers of the Poverty Bay Blues and Brews Festival have announced the brewery roster for the upcoming event in Des Moines. If you haven’t heard yet, the local Rotary Club has put together a new Seattle area beer festival. The event will take place on the shores of Puget Sound at the Des Moines Beach Park on Saturday, September 25th. The event is a fundraiser for Music4Life and we are happy to be help the Rotary Club promote it. We like music, we like beer, so what’s not to like?
Thus far, the brewery lineup includes: Pike Brewery, Fish Tale Organic Ales, Two Beers Brewery, Airways Brewing, New Belgium Brewing, Anderson Valley Brewing, Scuttlebutt Brewing, Stone Brewing, Flyers Brewing, Unibroue Brewery, and Boulevard Brewing. There are still a few more spots to fill.
Tickets for the event are available at at 99 Bottles, CorkyCellars, Des Moines Drug, and through the Rotary Club of Des Moines. You can also buy tickets online.
All of the proceeds from the event will benefit the Music4Life, which expands music to youth in schools. Music4Life is a program to benefit elementary (fourth and fifth grade students) in Highline Public Schools. The program is a collaboration between Highline Public Schools, the Rotary Club of Des Moines and many individuals and businesses, partnering to expand music education for all children in the Highline School District. The program provides access to instruments to students who otherwise would not be able to afford to be involved in music programs.
The music lineup includes great blues from Dudley Taft, Becki Sue and her Big Rockin’ Daddies, the Cold Shot Band, the Stacy Jones Band and Rod Cook.
