Is Ivar’s suddenly becoming hip?

Ivar’s Acres of Clams and Ivar’s Salmon House are Seattle institutions. It warms the hearts of old-timers like me to remember Ivar Haglund’s silly songs and wacky advertising antics. When my white-haired mother visits from Arizona, Ivar’s Acres of Clams is where she wants to go. She swears their chowder is still the best in the world. Indeed, it sometimes seems that Ivar’s is stuck in time.

Wait just a minute! Is Ivar’s suddenly becoming hip? We recently told you about a Northwest Cider Association event taking place at Ivar’s Salmon House on Lake Union (see that story) and now we’re telling you about a special winter beer tasting event at Ivar’s Acres of Clams on the Seattle waterfront. A bunch of really good breweries are involved.

Here are the details from the O-Fish-All Ivar’s Club on Facebook.
