Tickets go on sale this Saturday for the 9th Annual Hops and Props event. The 2011 version of the Museum of Flight fundraiser will take place on Saturday April 9th. This event regularly sells out and you might be tempted to rush out to buy tickets early. Before you get your tickets to Hops and Props I have something for you to consider: this year’s Hops and Props event will quite likely coincide with the Washington Cask Beer Festival.
It has not been announced officially, but we have a pretty strong suspicion that the Cask Fest will also take place on April 9th. Far be it from me to tell you which event to attend, but you should at least be aware of the coincidence.
Crisis? What Crisis?
Hops and Props takes place in the evening (7:00 – 10:00) and the Cask Beer Festival usually offers an afternoon session. You could pull up your big-boy pants and go to both events. That would really be something.
I love Hops and Props. While I have been to better beer festivals in terms of beer selection, you cannot beat the location. Perhaps it’s because of my deep Jet City roots, but I really dig airplanes. Drinking beer in a room full of super-cool historic aircraft just suits me.
That having been said, we’re talking about Cask Fest! Last year we ran a poll here on the blog, asking readers to vote for their favorite local beer festival. The top vote-getter was the Washington Cask Beer Festival. I mean, it’s Cask Fest for crying out loud.
I will certainly share any official news as soon as it is released. I just wanted to give you a little heads-up before you rush out this Saturday and paint yourself into a corner.
