Georgetown Brewing collaborates with Heritage University.
Washington’s hop industry relies heavily on the labor and skills of agricultural workers in the Yakima Valley. Often, these workers come from families that have worked the hop fields (and other fields) for multiple generations. Heritage India Pale Ale, by Georgetown Brewing, benefits scholarship programs at Heritage University, an institution that empowers the multi-cultural population in the homeland of the Yakama Nation*.
Georgetown Brewing describes Heritage IPA as “a bright, golden IPA with flavors and aromas of sweet mango, navel orange, and honeydew.” The beer is available on tap and in growlers at the Georgetown Brewing taproom in Seattle.
All of the proceeds from the beer support student scholarships at Heritage University. “More than half of the student body are either children of agricultural workers or agricultural workers themselves, so this collab not only supports our amazing hop industry, but the agricultural workers, and their families, who grow and harvest the hops,” says Georgetown Brewing.
Rooted in the homeland of the Yakama Nation, Heritage University empowers a multicultural and inclusive student body to overcome the social, cultural, economic, and geographic barriers that limit access to higher education. The University operates campuses in Toppenish, Pasco, and Kennewick. Learn more about Heritage University here.
