This came across our desk yesterday and it is very much worthy of sharing with our faithful readers: Old Wooly vertical at the Big Time today (Wednesday, April 13th). Starting at 3:00 p.m. the Big Time Brewery will be tapping partial kegs of 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2009 Old Wooly. The beer will be poured the way God intended: gravity and not gas. Cost is $5 a snifter. The beer will pour until the kegs are empty. How’s that for an excuse to skip out of work early?
If you fancy a nice barley wine, and who doesn’t, then you are probably familiar with Big Time Old Wooly. Most beers are brewed by brewers; Old Wooly is a divine bequest sent to us from God. Well, from Bill Jenkins anyway. It is written: “For Bill so loved the world that he sent his only begotten beer that whosoever believes in Old Wooly should not perish but have everlasting life.”
What a fitting way to honor Bill Jenkins’ departure from Big Time. What an appropriate way to welcome Drew Cluley as he steps into Bill’s boots, so to speak.
