New Tacoma taproom grand opening celebration is set for August 29th and 30th
We introduced you to Evergreen State Brewing in March 2025. At that time, Gig Harbor Brewing announced that it had found new owners and that Evergreen State Brewing was taking over the operation of the brewery and taproom in Tacoma as well as the taproom in Gig Harbor. Today we share news that the company is on the move. On August 29th it will open a new taproom in Tacoma at 1933 Dock Street, along the Foss Waterway. Browsing social media, the company has been coy about sharing how the new digs will actually look, so you’ll have to stop by and check it out for yourself.
Though the taproom on South Tacoma Way is closing, Evergreen State Brewing intends to continue producing beer there. On social media, the company says the new Dock Street location will allow it to add live music, comedy nights, and food to the taproom’s offerings.
“The brewery stays put (for now), but our Tacoma taproom is getting the waterfront upgrade it deserves,” said the company on social media. “Located steps from the Foss Waterway and Museum of Glass, this new spot brings major vibes—and more space for the community we love.”
Evergreen State Brewing invites you to the grand opening of its new Dock Street taproom on Friday, August 29th and Saturday, August 30th. Expect live music all day on both days, the introduction of the new mug club, raffles and giveaways, and special perks for the locals (residents of the Dock Street apartments).
Matthew Burnett, the new owner of Evergreen State Brewing, is a veteran and a Tacoma native who brings a love of all things local, including beer, to the business. The company has a passion for the state of Washington and everything that the Evergreen State has to offer, which explains the brewery’s name.
Evergreen State Brewing’s Gig Harbor taproom is located at 3155 Harborview Drive. The new taproom is located at 1933 Dock Street in Tacoma.
