Diamond Knot Brewing enjoys a kinship with Boeing. The pub in Mukilteo is just a few minutes down the street from the big Boeing plant in Everett and is frequented by many Boeing employees for lunch and for after work beers. Beyond that, the brewery’s founders actually met because of Boeing: they were both members of the Boeing homebrew club.

To celebrate the delivery of the first Boeing 787 Dreamliner, Diamond Knot is offering a special deal on beer at its pubs. From September 26 through September 30th Diamond Knot will be selling pitchers for $7.87. That’s a bargain.

This special deal also serves as a tribute to Diamond Knot co-founder Brian Sollenberger, who died unexpectedly in 2009. Although the brewing business took off (so to speak), Brian never quit his day job and remained passionate about his work as a Boeing Engineering Manager. At the time of his untimely death, Brian was working on the Dreamliner project.

In October 2009, Diamond Knot Brewing Co. lost an important member of our family, owner & founder Brian Sollenberger. At the time of his passing, Brian was also a Boeing Engineering Manager for the 787 Dreamliner. Brian co-founded Diamond Knot Brewing Co. with Bob Maphet after meeting in the home brew club at Boeing, and even though the brewery took off Brian never stopped enjoying his work at Boeing.

“Brian was excited to be working on the next generation aircraft; unfortunately, he never saw the plane fly” said Bob Maphet, Co-Founder. “We wanted to honor Brian and all the Boeing employees who have dreamed of this day”.
