Coming Soon – A Collins Pub for the North End

Hudson Public House gets closer and closer to opening. For those of you who have not heard, Seth Howard (the proprietor of Collins Pub in Pioneer Square) is in the process of opening a new pub in Seattle’s Maple Leaf neighborhood. Hudson Pub will be easy for beer geeks to find. The location at the corner of 15th Ave N.E. and Lake City Way is practically right across the street from Cooper’s Alehouse – one of the first places in Seattle where you could find good beer (back in the olden days when good beer was scarce around these parts).

Seth Howard’s vision is to create a Collins Pub for the north end. That is, a place that serves up excellent food alongside a very impressive selection of beer and wine. As anyone who has been to Collins Pub knows, nothing is sacrificed. The beer and wine selection is tremendous and stands on its own. The same can be said for the food, which transcends far beyond typical pub fare.

Nancy Leson of the Seattle Times wrote a nice article about the imminent opening of Hudson Pub that can be found here.

As we reported earlier, Seattle Beer Authority recently opened on Lake City Way, albeit a couple miles down the road from Hudson Pub. This is all good news for beer lovers in that particular neck of the woods.

  1. I heard from a friend that it opened up yesterday..? Apparently they’ve got a bunch of Ninkasi and Pliny the Elder on tap…..

Can’t wait to check it out. I wish this place was open years ago when I used to live 2 blocks down on 15th! 😉

  3. I did a drive by on my way to the 3rd Place Pub. It looks pretty cozy. If it is anything like Collins, I think we North-enders are in for a treat at long last!

  4. They have Kwak on tap! (Not to mention the proper glasswear / stirrup for it to go in) Yum!
