“Beautimus” is the first word Don Spencer, Silver City Brewmaster, spoke when he saw what Santa brought him for Christmas! Coincidentally, that is also the name of Silver City’s newest seasonal beer – Beautimus!
It wouldn’t fit under the tree. Santa didn’t bring it down the chimney. It arrived on a flatbed trailer.
Christmas came early this year for Don Spencer and Silver City Brewery when they took delivery of a shiny new 40 barrel fermenter and a pair of shiny new bright tanks (40 barrel and 28 barrel). The new tanks were installed last week. The future for more Silver City Beer is looking “bright.”
Silver City (in Silverdale) is a bit enigmatic for those of us who live on Puget Sound’s eastern shores. Maybe we’ve heard of it, maybe we haven’t. Seattle beer snobs might raise eyebrows and wonder how good beer from Silverdale can actually be. Well, rest assure that Don “Big Daddy” Spencer (together with his longtime friend and brewing cohort, Tom Munoz) will put that snobbery to rest. They make seriously good beer at Silver City Brewing. It is entirely worthy of a ferry boat ride or a trip across the Narrows. http://www.silvercitybrewery.com
