Copperworks Distilling Raises $2,240 for Spokane Complex Fire Relief

In the wake of the devastating Spokane Complex Fire in August, Copperworks Distilling Co. turned to a whiskey rooted in the region to support the communities affected by the disaster.

Throughout August, the distillery donated $20 from every bottle of Farmsmith American Single Malt Whiskey sold to the H.O.M.E. Starts Here Spokane Complex Fire Relief Fund. With customer support, the Seattle-based distillery raised $2,240 for the fund, which provides short- and long-term rent assistance, medical equipment, transportation services, and other critical resources to help the community recover.

“The farming families and partners around Spokane aren’t just our suppliers; they are our friends,” said Jason Parker, President and Co-Founder of Copperworks Distilling Co. “Thank you to everyone who raised a glass to support them.”

Farmsmith was created to celebrate Washington’s barley fields by exploring the impact of single-varietal, single-farm, and single-growing-year barley. The current release features single-varietal Genie barley grown 20 miles west of Spokane and malted by LINC Malt in Spokane, friends who have been instrumental to Copperworks’ distilling journey for many years. LINC Malt honors the work of skilled Inland Northwest farmers, remains committed to farmer-owned farms, and prioritizes relationships that span the grain supply chain.

Local agriculture and local communities are at the heart of every Copperworks release. The distillery is committed to sourcing local barley, including Salmon-Safe certified barley when available, and celebrating the unique characteristics of Washington’s growing regions through its spirits.
