I’ve been preaching this one for the past few years: nowadays, beer festivals have to be about more than just the beer. The beer alone doesn’t cut it anymore. You need an experience, an occasion, a genuine happening — something that makes people show up even if they’re only casual beer fans. As it has always done, Fremont Oktoberfest checks every one of those boxes, and then some. Lots of great beer, for sure, but also a lot of festival.

Seattle’s largest annual beer festival takes to the streets on September 18, 19, and 20, and if you’ve never been, here’s the deal: three days of craft beer, good food, and the kind of lively chaos that only a street festival can produce. The kind of frivolity for which Fremont is famous. This iconic event returns with a rotating lineup of seasonal brews — local favorites pouring right alongside unique flavors pulled in from around the globe, because apparently, Fremont doesn’t believe in half-measures. The self-proclaimed “center of the universe” doesn’t do understated very well.
Whether you’re a die-hard beer nerd or just someone looking for a genuinely fun weekend with friends, Fremont Oktoberfest delivers on both fronts. Live music, games, a street full of people in a great mood — this is one of the area’s premier beer festivals for a reason, and it earns that title every single year.

Fremont Oktoberfest Frequently Asked Questions
September 18–20, 2026. Friday runs 5–11pm, Saturday’s the big one at noon to 11pm, and Sunday winds things down from noon to 5pm. Plan your weekend accordingly.
The festival takes over the streets of Fremont, bounded by Phinney Ave N and 1st Ave NW on one side and N 35th St and N Canal St on the other. Main entrance is at Phinney and N 35th. If you know Fremont at all, you’ll find it. If you don’t, follow the crowd in lederhosen.
You live in Seattle. You already know the answer. This is a rain-or-shine event, and honestly, a little drizzle has never stopped anyone from enjoying a good beer in this city. Dress accordingly, or don’t, and just own it.
Strictly, unapologetically 21+. Bring a real, valid ID — driver’s license, passport, DMV card, or military ID. Everyone gets carded, no exceptions, so don’t take it personally when the security personnel at the gate looks at you like they’ve never seen you before in their life. It’s just the job. Dogs, on the other hand, get a pass — but only on Sunday.
There is street parking in the area, as well as some pay lots. Parking is always a bit tricky in Fremont. On a day when there’s a festival in the ‘hood, I grant you godspeed. Public transportation, taxi, or ride-share is recommended.
On Friday and Saturday: taps close 10:30pm, festival closes 11pm. On Sunday: taps close 4:30pm, festival closes 5pm. Last call is 15 minutes before taps shut down.

Yes. Prices go up as the event gets closer, so buying early saves you money and guarantees you’re not standing in a longer line than necessary while everyone around you is already three beers deep.
Buy online, bring your ticket printed or pulled up on your phone, get it scanned at the gate, and walk in. It’s about as complicated as ordering a pretzel. There are options, so pick your ticket level with intention.
