On Saturday, August 8th, the Beloved Community Living Room Celebrates a Milestone
Renton, Washington’s Brewmaster’s Taproom calls itself “a community space that serves really great craft beer.” Notice how they put “community” first? That’s a pretty accurate description, but I think we can do better: Brewmaster’s Taproom serves the community. Full stop. And they serve really great beer, too. Over the last ten years, there have been countless examples of meaningful community giving, support, and involvement that have little to do with beer. But, yeah, the beer.
Marley Rall opened Brewmaster’s a decade ago to create a neighborhood living room that welcomed everyone and their dogs. Because of the strong, unwavering focus on the “everyone” part of that statement, the business has drawn some unwanted attention from a few people who do not appreciate Marley’s vision of inclusivity. It is not performative. It is not just for optics. Marley sees inclusivity as an absolute. “Everyone is welcome” means everyone is welcome; otherwise, it means no one is welcome. She doesn’t care if you disagree. Brewmaster’s Taproom has, quite literally, taken shots for Marley’s convictions.
You cannot help but appreciate that.
Time to Mark the First Decade
“The Brewmaster’s Taproom has called its little corner up the hill from Renton City Hall home for a whole decade now and will be celebrating with the community on Saturday, August 8th, 2026,” said the announcement. “We’ll have amazing, fun-filled activities all day that really encapsulate why Brewmaster’s is a community space that serves really great craft beer.”
“We will be releasing the collaboration beer everyone has been waiting for at 2 pm sharp with a limited run of cans! Our friends at Kings & Daughters out of Hood River, OR and Varietal Beer Company out of Sunnyside, WA got together to make our 10th anniversary beer – I love you, but you’re all terrible! An homage to the original place that made it so everyone felt safe, seen, and a little like family – Bob’s Burgers.

“We will also have Syliva O’Stayformore in the house for a special edition of her world-famous Free Drag Queen Story Hour at 4 pm and bingo at 6 pm – both completely free and appropriate for all ages. We will also have a Washington-based artist, Narboo, here from 3 pm-5 pm, offering free pet sketches.”
Any event at Brewmaster’s is incomplete without some fundraising component. It’s in the business’s DNA. Swing by the taproom all week leading up to Saturday’s event and purchase raffle tickets for some awesome limited edition baskets. The raffle supports Sustainable Renton’s Food Justice Program and the City of Renton Parks & Recreation’s scholarship fund. You don’t need ot be present to win, so stop by anytime and buy some tix.
