On Saturday, February 1st, 192 Brewing’s Lake Trail Taproom invites you to enjoy some dark beer and some tasty chili. They call it the Washington Brewers Invitational Dark Beer & Chili Competition. For the 13th year, a collection of Washington breweries will create a batch of chili to pair with one of its dark beers. You, the consumer, sample the pairings and vote for your favorite.

It’s free to get into the event, but if you want to partake in the tasting, tickets are $4 each, or 6 tasting tickets for $20. All ages are welcome, but 21+ to enjoy the beer, of course. Among the beers, 192 Brewing teamed up with Bellingham’s Stones Throw Brewery to make a special collaboration beer for the event.

The breweries involved this year include:

  • Boundary Bay
  • Salish Sea
  • Rooftop
  • Old Stove
  • Watts
  • PostDoc
  • Stoup

New this year, the organizers are allowing Copperworks Distilling to participate. Although it is not a brewery, per se, the distillery is next to the 192 Brewing Lake Trail Taproom, so it’s only neighborly that Copperworks got a special invitation.
