Ten years ago Flying Lion Brewing opened in Seattle’s Columbia City neighborhood. It was the first craft brewery in a densely populated neighborhood. The brewery represented the realization of the family’s dream: four beer-loving brothers and their parents. It quickly gained popularity with the locals. The beer was good and the neighborhood ached for a brewery to call its own.
As the brewery grew in popularity and production volume, it became a practice in organizational engineering. Each time I visited, they’d somehow managed to further optimize the space. It’s remarkable. Anyway, this pint-sized but power-packed family-owned brewery is about to celebrate its 10th anniversary. To mark the occasion, Flying Lion Brewing will spread the celebration across 10 days, culminating with the official party on Saturday, October 17th.

- Sun 10/13 – 1-3pm: FREE FACE PAINTING! Be a lion…or a beer can! Bring your kids, bring your friends and get creative!
- Mon 10/14 – RYE STOUT HOODIE RELEASE! Our favorite beer deserves its own hoodie!
- Tues 10/15 – 4PM: 10 MINUTES IN BEER HEAVEN – For 10 minutes only, beers are $1.00! (limit 3/person). 5-8PM: Wellspring Family Services Fundraiser – $2/beer will be donated to help their mission of ending family homelessness for good.
- Weds 10/16 – 7:30pm: TRIVIA NIGHT! The theme is Flying Lion Brewing and beer!
- Thurs 10/17 – 6pm: STEIN HOLDING COMPETITION! How strong are you?
- Fri 10/18 – MEMORY LANE DAY! We’ll display a timeline of photos and milestones, come by and write a memory on the wall!
- SAT 10/19 – 10 YR ANNIVERSARY PARTY! SPECIAL BEERS! LIMITED EDITION PINT GLASS! Maybe a dunk tank? (dunk FLB staff for charity!)
