Walking Man Brewing Announces the Completion of The Pavilion

The beer garden at Walking Man Brewing is now covered. That statement could be taken a couple of ways. Covered, as in covered by an overhead structure. Covered could also mean that it is covered by an insurance policy. In a way, I suppose you could say that both of those meanings apply to this announcement.

The Pavilion at Walking Man Brewing.

Indeed, the beer garden at Walking Man Brewing in Stevenson, Washington is now protected from the elements by an overhead structure. The construction of the recently completed pavilion was supported by the HartBeat of Main Street Grant Program, a small business grants program created by Main Street America in partnership with The Hartford (a recognized leader in property and casualty insurance). So, yeah, it’s covered and it’s covered.

“We could not be more excited to offer this beautiful outdoor covered space to our guests,” said Tabatha Wiggins, co-owner of Walking Man Brewing. “The pavilion will be a cozy gathering place in the cooler months and provide shade in the summer.”

“We are grateful for the HartBeat of Main Street Grant that allowed us to initiate this project. It wouldn’t have been possible without community support, namely Tom Sikora, Benny Kelso, and McCaskill Construction — these guys made it happen!”

Out of 31 HartBeat of Main Street Grant recipients, Walking Man represented just one of four West Coast communities in the 2021 round of funding from the program. As a partnership between Main Street America and The Hartford, the program helps small businesses across the country adapt to the COVID-19 pandemic and helps to revitalize and strengthen commercial districts, like downtown Stevenson.

Walking Man Brewing is a vital part of the Stevenson community. Located in the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area along the Columbia River, the town of Stevenson is about 45 minutes upstream from both Vancouver and Portland. Approximately 1,500 people call Stevenson home. Learn more about the town, and the Stevenson Downtown Association, here. Plan your visit to Stevenson here.
