The Best of the Northwest Beer – a chance to taste the winners

Join Sip Northwest at the Sixgill in Seattle’s Fremont neighborhood on October 27th, starting at 4:00 pm, to celebrate the fifth annual Sip Northwest Best of the Northwest beer and cider winners. In addition to producing this website, I also write for Sip Northwest magazine, which means I am  part of the tasting panels for the annual Best of the Northwest beer and cider judging.

Each year the panels test, taste and score scads of different beers in a number of categories (blind tasting format) to determine which deserve the title Best in the Northwest. It’s a tough job, but somebody’s gotta do it. Results are published in the annual Sip Northwest Best of the Northwest issue, which is on newsstands right now.

Once the issue has been published and the winners revealed, Sip Northwest plans a big party where you can taste the winners. We pick some good ones, that’s for sure.

With more than 20 different winning beers and ciders, kegs will be tapped and bottles will be popped at 4:00 p.m., splashing into glasses until it’s all gone. Entry is free and bottles/drafts are priced accordingly.
