Schooner Exact Brewing just announced that it will release this year’s Hoppy the Woodsman on Monday, November 2nd. At the brewery, they’ll celebrate the release by pouring half-pint vertical tastings of the 2014 and 2015 versions side by side. Here’s the release notice.
What happens when you take a fantastic winter warmer and age it in a bourbon barrel? Magic, that’s what. Big brother to Hoppy Holidays, Hoppy the Woodsman is a perfect marriage of rich flavors. Vanilla, whiskey and oak come together in decadent harmony, adding complexity to an already tasty brew. Rich caramel sweetness and toasted malt are offset by a nice amount of alcohol in the finish.
It’s one of our favorite beers to make (and drink) and we look forward to sharing it with you every year. Available for immediate consumption in half pints or take bombers to go. Grab one for now and one for the cellar!
