Airways Brewing Begins Shipping Beer Coast-to-Coast & Many Points In Between

Sometimes I feel like our local breweries are disrespected on the national beer scene. Like Washington beer doesn’t get the credit it deserves, damn it. Then I calm down and remember that it’s because nobody knows about our beer. In Seattle, it is very easy for people to drink great craft beer from around the country, but you cannot drink Seattle beer anywhere else in the world. We’re selfish that way. Apparently, Airways Brewing (blog sponsor) wants to share its beer with the rest of the nation. Or at least with most of it.

Today, Airways Brewing announced that bottles of its beer can be purchased online and shipped to any of 37 states. Along with the ever-popular Sky Hag IPA, Airways is offering its Chocolate Stout and Belgian Dark Strong. Before too long you will also be able to order Airways Brewing’s 16-ounce aluminum cans online as well (see our previous post about the cans).

Airways Brewing is not the first or only Washington brewery to sell its beer online, but as far as I can recall they are the first to sell it directly from their own website. But I could be wrong about that.

Here is the press release:

KENT, Wash. (March 26, 2013) – Airways Brewing Company is excited to announce the availability of its delicious handcrafted brews online and available for shipping through AirwaysBrewing.com. Available to 37 states, craft beer enthusiasts can now order bottles of Airways’ popular line of 22-ounce bottles online – including the infamous Sky Hag IPA, Chocolate Stout and Third Anniversary Belgian Dark Strong – and have them shipped right to their front door.

“We receive requests all the time from people who have either had our beer before, loved it, then moved away, or are intrigued by the styles we offer and want to experience it for themselves,” said Airways Brewing Founder and Head Brewer Alex Dittmar. “Offering shipping to states all across the country is a great way for us to not only raise awareness for Airways, but for Pacific Northwest beer overall.”
