The Northwest’s Best Ciders Featured at this Weekend’s Event

This weekend, Friday June 6 though Sunday June 8, Seattle Cider Company hosts the first-ever PNWCA Cider Festival at The Woods tasting room in Seattle. The PNWCA Cider Festival offers cider drinkers a large and diverse selection of the Pacific Northwest’s best ciders on tap.  Expect to find 25 ciders pouring at any given moment and a total of 30 ciders rotated throughout the weekend. We share the cider lineup and more event detail below.

The three-day festival follows the first-ever Pacific Northwest Cider Awards (PNWCA) competition. Find out who won here. On Friday afternoon at the festival, the competition organizers announce the medal winners. In all, nearly 100 ciders entered the competition, which sees a panel of cider experts conduct a double-blind tasting of ciders divided into 10 separate categories. The PNWCA awards medals in 10 distinct categories, ranging from Modern Dry Cider to Wild-Fermented Cider, along with a medal for Best in Show. The Washington Beer Blog serves as the official competition moderator, overseeing the judging to assure fairness and accuracy.

Your admission ($30 advance, $35 door) includes a commemorative 13-ounce PNWCA tulip glass along with 8 tasting tokens. A single token equals a 5-ounce pour, or two tokens gets a 10-ounce pour. Festivalgoers vote for a People’s Choice award to be announce on Monday, June 9. At the festival, enjoy food from two of Seattle’s top food trucks: Contigo (Friday and Saturday) and Where Ya at Matt (Saturday and Sunday).

  1. – Emergency Ponchos – These provide warmth and shelter for your family.
Distinctive and fashionable, baby diaper bags in camo designs are perfect for dad.
Fortunately, these days baby bags come in manly colors and designs.
