Tanktoberfest combines historic military vehicles and beer

Updated August 22: We have added the list of participating breweries, along with the list of vehicles that we be on parade and on display. See below.

Original Post: When I was a kid, tanks were cool. Of course, I possessed no real concept of war when I was young, so the tank represented something else to my young mind. I don’t know what, exactly. indestructible bad-assedness, I suppose. Like the superhero of vehicles. Truth is, I still think tanks are pretty cool. Somehow I’m able to irrationally disconnect my distaste for war from my fascination with the machinery of war. I’m not perfect, but I’m probably not alone.

Tanktoberfest is a beer festival with tanks and other historic military vehicles. Hosted by the Flying Heritage and Combat Armor Museum in Everett, the event takes place on Saturday, September 22nd. Sip tasty beers while you watch military history come to life as tanks and other historic military vehicles parade for your viewing pleasure.

According to event organizers, “This action packed day takes the fun of Germany’s Oktoberfest and adds tanks! As you enjoy an ice-cold beer, watch history come to life as tanks and rare vehicles take to the arena for your viewing pleasure.”
