Starting a brewery? You need to know about this opportunity

Each year Craft Beer and Brewing magazine organizes and hosts an event intended to give soon-to-be brewery owners/operators a glimpse of what is really involved with operating a brewery. For real. Not theory, not hearsay, not anecdotes, but really valuable truth. Registration is now open for the Brewery Workshop, New Brewery Accelerator. It will sell out. Always does.

Not long ago I spoke with a local brewery owner, Frank Castro, about his involvement in the workshop and he raved about it. He attended the workshop before opening his brewery, Bickersons Brewhouse in Renton, and said the insight into the workings of the industry, from supplier relationships to distributor agreements, was invaluable.

Frank also met a couple other Washington breweries-in-planning at the workshop: Stemma Brewing and The Good Society Brewery. The three breweries teamed up not long ago to create a three-way collab. Read about that here.

The New Brewery Accelerator must work. All three of those breweries are kind of kicking butt right now, making killer beer and winning the hearts of beer fans around here. In fact, The Good Society won a GABF Gold Medal in its first year of existence (2020).

Here is the announcement from Craft Beer and Brewing magazine about the workshop.

Launching a Brewery?

There are less than 50 spots total for this intimate opportunity for new and in-planning breweries to spend multiple days with the best minds in brewing. Previous attendees have called it ‘a must for anyone going pro’ and ‘a required event for anyone opening a brewery.’
