Seattle’s Here Today Brewery Introduces a New Brewer

The crew at Here Today Brewery and Kitchen in Seattle.

Here Today Brewery and Kitchen in Seattle just announced the arrival of a new head brewer, Ted O’Hanlan. Previously, Ted worked for a couple of years as head brewer at Block 15 Brewing. Before that, he worked as head brewer at Bow and Arrow Brewing for nearly five years.

Beer lovers around here are probably quite familiar with Block 15 Brewing of Corvallis, Oregon; however, less familiar with Bow and Arrow Brewing of Albuquerque, New Mexico, which is also an esteemed, award-winning brewery. (Worth a mention here, as an aside, Bow and Arrow is a women-founded brewery, and those women are Native American.) And Ted’s resume is even deeper than that. Suffice it to say, he’s got chops.

Ted replaces Mario Cortes who was not only running the brewhouse at Here Today Brewery and Kitchen but was also one of the founders. Below, I share the announcement as it appeared on Here Today’s Instagram page.

“Today marks a big transition for our little brewery. Our co-founder, partner, and friend, Mario Cortes, will be leaving the company at the end of March and Ted O’Hanlan starts today as our new Head Brewer. Mario was integral to the opening of our brewery and for the high quality beer we’ve produced over the last year+. His leadership and guidance will surely be missed but we’re excited for him and his wife Sara as they start a new chapter.”

“Ted brings a large amount of experience to the brew house having most recently served as Head Brewer at Block 15 in Corvallis and previously as Head Brewer at Bow & Arrow Brewing in New Mexico. We’re excited to work with Ted and continue to produce beautiful beer for you on the Seattle waterfront!”
