This comes as welcome news for a lot of you. For others, you might not be familiar with Russian River Brewing. You should get acquainted.
It was almost exactly 10 years ago that we announced that Russian River Brewing would stop distributing beer to Washington. At the time, it seemed tragic to so many people who wonder how the world could keep turning without Pliny the Elder. Me, I missed all the “-tion” beers: Damnation, Supplication, Perdition, and so on.
Today on social media, Russian River Brewing announced that it is coming back to the Seattle metropolitan area. The company’s website shows a list of accounts that will sell the beer — kind of a who’s who of the Seattle beer scene. Next Thursday, an event at Brouwer’s Cafe celebrates the return to the Seattle market.
Stoup Distro will handle the distribution of Russian River beers in the Seattle area. Here’s the announcement from Instagram:
“After a long 10-year absence, we are thrilled to announce our enthusiastic return to Seattle, WA! Feeling superstitious, we waited to make this important announcement until after the truck pulled away from our loading dock a few hours ago!”
“Next week Pliny the Elder, Blind Pig, Happy Hops, STS Pils, Supplication, Damnation and MORE will start showing up in bottles and on tap in and around the greater Seattle area.”
“Some of our new (and some original) accounts include all Chuck’s locations, Special Brews, and Brouwer’s. For a complete list of our current Seattle accounts, check out our website. Follow them on social media for news on when they might be releasing the beer. We can’t wait to finally celebrate our return to Seattle! “

I haven’t had Damnation in over a decade. I cannot wait to get my hands on a case again! My fridge and my palette thank you!
