Pretty Fair Beer Company celebrating its first anniversary

One year, 116 draft beers, and 228 different canned and bottled beers

What? Are you crazy? Opening a new business in the spring of 2020 presented remarkable challenges. Unless your new business involved manufacturing PPE or COVID-19 test kits, let’s just say 2020 was a rough year to open a business. Back in May of 2020, we reported on the opening of a new beer bar in downtown Ellensburg, The Pretty Fair Beer Company.

At a time when it was exceedingly difficult to serve beer to the public, Karissa and Tyler Witthuhn opened a business that serves beer to the public. Congrats to them for weathering the storm! The Pretty Fair Beer Company (PFB) is set to celebrate its one-year anniversary next weekend — Friday, April 30th thru Sunday, May 2nd.

“We can’t believe a year has gone by so fast!” said Tyler Witthuhn. “From the first beer run to our first collab, we’ve just been stoked to bring you guys the best beer we can get our hands on, from anywhere in Washington State.”

Part of the plan at PFB involved road trips to source beer from other parts of the state and not simply rely on what beers the distributors and breweries could deliver to their door. And that’s exactly what they did. In the first year, PFB served Ellensburg’s beer lovers at least 116 different draft beers and 228 different canned/bottled beers.

Tyler continues, “We’ve partnered with our friends from Green Bow Farms, Dakota Café, Brosky’s Food Truck, The Pearl, Heyday Bakery, The Mule, and Brix to bring you more food options and exciting special events and can’t wait to bust out the new Pretty Fair Stage for live music. All this in reaching our goal to make Pretty Fair Beer the best place to drink beer in Central Washington.”

To mark the first anniversary, Pretty Fair Beer is hosting a celebration from April 30th through May 2nd. The event includes:

“Of course the taps will be flowing with pretty fair beer from our friends around the state, the wine fridge will be fully stocked, and our expanded food menu will make its debut. This is a party you won’t want to miss.”
