Pearl Jam teams up with KettleHouse Brewing to release a beer

Jeff Ament, the bassist for the legendary Seattle-born rock band Pearl Jam, is a native of Montana. That’s where he lives when not touring, recording, or otherwise engaged in rock stardom. In addition to playing bass in one of the world’s most notable rock bands for the past 30 years, Jeff digs skateboarding. In fact, he founded a non-profit organization dedicated to funding world-class skateparks in rural and isolated communities: Montana Pool Service (MPS).

All that being said, Pearl Jam recently teamed up with KettleHouse Brewing and MPS to launch a beer benefitting Jeff’s non-profit organization. The collaboration is a tribute to a Pearl Jam concert that took place in 2018 at Washington-Grizzly Stadium at the University of Montana in Missoula.

The beer was released a couple days ago at the two KettleHouse locations in Montana — Missoula and nearby Bonner. MPS Pool Ale is described as a Pale Ale brewed with Lemondrop hops, clocking in at 5 percent ABV. Starting now, if not soon, the beer will be available throughout Montana, Eastern Washington, and Northern Idaho on draft and in 4-packs of 16-oz cans.

“Super excited to collab with KettleHouse on the Montana Pool Ale for the Pearl Jam streaming event,” said Jeff Ament, “KettleHouse has always been about music and community here in Missoula. All contributions go to the new skatepark being built in Superior, MT this Fall. Grab a 4-pack now!”

Streaming event? That concert I mentioned, the one featuring Pearl Jam playing in Missoula? It will be available from June 18 thru 21 for streaming on Nugs.net. What’s more, there will be a live streaming event in Missoula, at Orgren Park at Allegiance Field in Missoula on June 18th.

For tickets to the event and more info on the streaming party in Missoula, visit Pearl Jam’s website.

“We’re honored to partner with a world-renowned rock band like Pearl Jam,” said Zach Nelson, KettleHouse Head Brewer, “The MPS Pool Ale is light, easy-drinking, and packed with citric notes of tangerine and lemon zest. It was made for enjoying with live music, and when drinkers stream the 2018 Pearl Jam Missoula show, we want them to feel like they are right there, beer in hand.”
