Flying Lion Brewing Company hosts its grand opening celebration on Wednesday, October 22, from 4:00 P.M. until midnight, at its brewery in Seattle’s Columbia City neighborhood. The brewery is right next door to Full Tilt Ice Cream. They will conduct some giveaways throughout the week/weekend and intend to pour six beers for the opening: Sweet Potato Porter, Rye Stout, Pale Ale, IPA, Belgian Strong, and Red Rye Session.
I don’t know a lot about Flying Lion Brewing except that they use a bicycle-powered grain mill. Also, I know they conducted a successful crowd funding campaign. Beyond that, we will all have to go the brewery and learn about Flying Lion together. I share some information from the company’s website below.

From the company’s website:
Flying Lion is a family operation in Columbia City, Seattle, conceived by four beer-loving brothers and their parents. It all started with root beer batches in the basement and dinner-table discussions about beer flavors and hop utilization led by Dad Williams, the food chemist. In adulthood we became prolific homebrewers, and now we’re going pro!
Griffin is our head brewer. He no longer thinks of anything but beer and was the only Williams ready to quit his 9-5. Tyler and Evan hold down day jobs while supporting Griffin in his craft. Conor provides support and advice from the east coast Washington.
Growing up, Mom and Dad encouraged creativity, which shows in our ambitious beer concepts. Our parents’ chemistry background also drives a detailed and experimental approach in our brewery.
