Today we have some news to share from West Seattle Brewing. During the month of February, West Seattle Brewing will offer happy hour prices on pints of beer all the time. That means pints will only cost $4.00 all month, all the time. This offer is both locations: the main brewery and taproom on Fauntleroy Way SW and the satellite taproom down the road on Alki Beach. Winter seasonal beers are the only exception and will still sell for normal price.
I’m not going to pull any punches here, and I only bring it up because things have changed, but when West Seattle Brewing first opened in 2013, the beers were not good. It was a popular place and the neighborhood certainly needed a brewery and taproom, but I don’t think anyone can honestly say that the beers were on par with those created by most Seattle-area breweries. They quickly, and sadly, got an unfavorable reputation among Seattle’s beer enthusiasts.
That was way back in 2013, when they brewed on a homebrew system, essentially. They closed down for several months, redesigned and reopened in June of 2015. Even more changes happened in the following months. Today, West Seattle Brewing is bona fide. Not only have they upgraded the brew system to a “real” commercial system, but they also have an experienced, professional brewer at the helm.
Danny Borgstrom took over as the head brewer at West Seattle Brewing last September. His resume includes time brewing at Diamond Knot Brewing in Mukilteo and Titletown Brewing in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

So, if your earlier experiences at West Seattle Brewing left an unpleasant taste in your mouth, it’s probably worth giving them another chance. Especially next month (February) when most all of the beers will cost you just $4.00 per pint.
