This Thursday, December 5, Double Mountain Brewing visits the Noble Fir in Seattle. The brewery will bring some great beers from its brewery in downtown Hood River, including White Rider, Red War, Pale Death, Lulu, and the ever-popular (and rare in Seattle) Devil’s Kriek. Thursday’s event gets started at 5:00 p.m.
The brewery describes Devil’s Kriek as a Flanders Red with cherries, a “slumbering beauty, refreshingly tart, fruity, and devilishly deep crimson.” To lend the beer its hue and character, Double Mountain uses Bing cherries grown seven miles away at Matt Swihart’s farm. (Matt is the founder/brewer at Double Mountain.) And of course, a wild Brettanomyces yeast strain. Devil’s Kriek clocks in at 8.8 percent ABV and 14 BU.
