It’s one of Northwest’s most interesting and entertaining beer festivals. Celebrating its 18th year, Strange Brewfest goes down on Friday, February 2nd and Saturday, February 3rd. The countdown has begun. It’s time to make reservations and get tickets. Note that your ticket is a weekend pass! Breweries, they still have room for you.

Each year Strange Brewfest in Port Townsend, Washington invites brewers to get creative and raise some eyebrows with interesting, unexpected, and strange flavors. An orange-chocolate porter? Sure. A Moscow mule hefeweizen? Why not? A tiramisu imperial stout? Go for it. Most of the beers are not really all that strange, but anything goes and festivalgoers never know what to expect at the next pouring station.

One thing is certain, expect to hear some great music. Strange Brewfest is almost like a killer music festival with lots and lots of beer. This year is no exception. Funky is always a theme that carries over to the music: Saturday’s headlining act is Funkways, a band that will take you to the crossroads of primitive raw funk and intense vernacular jazz.
