Airways Brewing – 1 collab beer with hops from 4 continents

Airways Brewing marked its anniversary back in March when the world was still fully pandemic-afflicted. Understandably, the brewery waited to actually celebrate its 11th birthday until things returned to normal, or something close to it. Now it is prepared to release Nothing To Declare, its anniversary beer.

Nothing to Declare Northeast-Style IPA is a collaborative effort brewed with some friends from near and far (pictured above). One of the collaborators works at Demory Paris — a brewery in Paris, France. It incorporates hops grown in the USA, South Africa, Germany, and Australia. In addition to the hops, this one was a truly international effort, as the release announcement below explains.

That’s not the only beer Airways Brewing is releasing this week. Here’s the story straight from Airways Brewing.

Our 11th Anniversary Beers get released on Friday. Yes, our actual anniversary was back in March, but we held off until things were a bit closer to normal. Here’s a preview:

Nothing to Declare is a Northeast-style IPA brewed with friends from four other breweries, and features hops from each of the hop-producing continents. If it sounds familiar, it’s because we brewed the same beer last year for Anniversary #10, right before the shutdown. A couple weeks back, we were joined by, Frank – via Zoom and now at Demory, Paris (yes, France), Matt from Georgetown Brewing, Adam from Reuben’s Brews, and Aaron – now at Three Magnets Brewing. The result of our collective effort is a smooth, easy drinking IPA hopped with Callista (Germany), Citra (US), Galaxy (Australia) and Southern Passion (South Africa). 6.8% ABV

Fritz & Max Helles Lager is an über-balanced, crisp, easy-drinking, clear beer. Brewed with a base of Franconian pilsner malt and hopped with Hallertauer Mittelfrüh, this beer showcases the ultimate balance between malt and hops. It’s a style we’ve wanted to brew for a while, but waited until we could give it a full two months from start to finish. 4.8% ABV

Both beers available this Friday, 7/23, on draft and in cans at both of our locations. Plus, a special German gravity cask on Friday at The Tap Room & Brewery starting at 4, until it runs out.
