Upcoming anniversary celebration at Scrappy Punk Brewing – one last hurrah

Four years ago, Scrappy Punk Brewing opened in Snohomish. As the company prepares to celebrate its anniversary amid the pandemic, it is also preparing to close for good. Why? Not for the reasons you might imagine.

There are plenty of reasons a brewer might go out of business right now, but this one sounds like it is all about achieving a beer/life balance. Running a brewery is a very energy- and time-consuming endeavor. Greg and Elise, the owners of Scrappy Punk Brewing, have a family as well as a brewery. The couple made the decision a year ago, back before our lives were disrupted by the virus.

Here’s the announcement from Scrappy Punk that was released on social media:

It’s hard to believe it’s been FOUR YEARS. And thanks to you WE ACTUALLY SURVIVED The Great Pandemic of 2020. To express our thanks, we will be hosting a TWO DAY ANNIVERSARY PARTY, which will be held on DECEMBER 19TH AND 20TH from NOON TO 8PM each day.

We’ll have NEW ZIP-UP HOODIES, bring-your-own growler fills, pints in the beer garden (hopefully also inside!) and sharing our genuine love for all of you! But…

One year ago, on our three-year anniversary, Greg and Elise decided they only had one more year left in them— They needed more time with their own families and young children.Despite our story of survival and success, this year’s anniversary party will be our LAST DAYS as a commercial brewery.

It’s our last great adventure and we hope the spirit of SCRAPPY PUNK lives on in your hearts: Know when to love; when to fight; when to press on; when to retire. To be complete, as brewery owners, we must accomplish all four of those things.

THANK YOU to all of our supporters for illuminating our lives. Thank you for an amazing four years. Thank you for walking through our door. We will miss you.

We’d also like to take the opportunity to introduce HAMMERED DWARF CIDER, which will be moving into our location in the near future. We’ll continue to be open on Saturdays and Sundays, from 2pm-8pm, through December 13th. At our anniversary party, which is December 19th and 20th, we will be open from 12pm-8pm.

Love,
Greg Krsak, Elise Mattson, Emily Nichols, Raymond Ceasar, Adam Malpass & Ryan Schiebel
