Brew Five Three, Tacoma’s beer and music festival, adapts to the times
The folks who bring you Tacoma’s annual beer and music festival are not giving up so easily. For nearly a decade they’ve organized this event to benefit Tacoma Arts Alive and they are committed to keeping the tradition going, regardless of the pandemic’s limitations. For this year’s event, they’ve adjusted the plan to create a to-go, virtual tasting experience: Brew Five Three To Go.
Brew Five Three To Go offers you the opportunity to purchase one of three tasting kits (or purchase all three, or purchase two of the three). Whatever fits your mood. They will host three different Zoom-style virtual tasting events, one for each of the three kits, highlighting what you’re drinking. More info about all that below, but first the essentials.
- Order your kit(s) now. Sales close on Thursday, February 4th
- Pick up your kit(s) on Saturday, February 13th from Noon until 5:00 at LeMay – America’s Car Museum’s Haub Family Field
- Online tasting event for the 253 Kit is Saturday, February 13th at 7:00
- Online tasting event for the Sweet Gritty City Kit is Sunday, February 14th at 3:00
- Online tasting event for the Sasquatch Route Kit is Sunday, February 14th at 5:00
Tasting events will highlight what’s in your tasting kit, along with a brewers chat and Q&A session. Zoom links and more details will be shared one week before the event.

On top of that, a pint glass and some swag from the participating breweries and cideries.
About The Tasting Kits
Each kit features a variety of different cans and bottles from the participating producers.
The 253 Kit includes beers from the likes of 7 Seas Brewing, Sig Brewing, Tacoma Brewing, E9 Brewing, and others.
The Sweet Gritty City Kit is geared for cider lovers and beer/cider lovers, offering products from Grit City Ciderworks, Tacoma Cider Co., Incline Cider, Kvlt, and others TBA.
The Sasquatch Route Kit includes products from the likes of Matchless Brewing, Rainy Daze Brewing, Pelican Brewing, Wingman Brewers, Stoup Brewing, Reuben’s Brews, and several others. The Sasquatch Route is the biggest bang for your buck!
