We introduced you to this new West Seattle brewery a few months ago (see that post). That was back in February when the world looked a lot different and The Good Society was just opening its doors to the public. Since then, it hasn’t exactly been smooth sailing for this new brewery, or any brewery for that matter, but they’ve navigated the uncertain situation admirably.

Today, by virtue of the fact that they’re licensed as a restaurant as well as a brewery, The Good Society Brewery and Public House is open for business, offering indoor and outdoor seating as well as beer to go. Unlike many other breweries around Seattle, they didn’t have to curtail indoor service because of the latest round of restrictions, which means the brewery’s Reduced Capacity Citra Pale Ale is still an aptly named beer.

So what’s with the name? The Good Society Brewery and Public House not only focuses on building a community around its beers and brewery, but it also believes in contributing to the greater society. The business plan includes a focus on giving. When you purchase your beer, know that a portion of the proceeds will be donated to one of two local non-profit organizations. All you need to do is select which one you want your beers to support.
The Good Society Brewery and Public House is located in the Admiral District of West Seattle. The north end of West Seattle, right up the hill from Alki. Currently, the taplist includes 10 house-brewed beers, representing a wide range of styles. Beers are available to go in growlers and crowlers. Open 7 days a week.
