Someone Fired a Shot at the Beer Bar and Bottleshop in Renton
Few businesses do so much to support their community. Beyond providing the people of Renton with a great beer bar and bottleshop, The Brewmaster’s Taproom consistently gives back to the community, hosting charity fundraisers and other community-focused events. They’re really good people with their hearts in the right place.
At approximately 12:00 P.M. on Wednesday, December 7th, someone fired a gun, apparently from a car driving through the parking lot, and shot a hole in the front door of The Brewmaster’s Taproom. Below, an image captured at the time of the incident.
“So just an update for everyone. Our taproom was shot at today around noon,” said the company on social media. “We believe it has to do with the people who are upset about our Drag Queen Story Time. We would like you to know we are still going to have drag queen story time. But we also want to be transparent with parents. Renton PD is aware and has set up cameras.”
Recently, The Brewmaster’s Taproom has fielded increasing criticism from certain groups on social media who are upset that it hosts monthly Drag Queen Story Time events. The crew at Brewmaster’s already expected to deal with protesters at this month’s event (this Saturday), but this violent attack is next-level.

The above message was shared on social media before yesterday’s incident occurred.
They’re not deterred. They are resolute. Judging by the prevailing sentiments on social media, the community stands united with Marley Rall and her crew at The Brewmaster’s Taproom, as does the Washington Beer Blog. Violent intolerance should not be normalized. It should be prosecuted.
