Seattle Seawolves kickoff new season with a new beer

 

The Seattle Seawolves, the local Major League Rugby franchise, are the reigning league champions, having won the title its inaugural year. It is a new team in a newly formed league, so perhaps all of this is news to you. The team recently announced its partnership with Elysian Brewing. Just in time for the team’s 2019 home opener (January 27th), Elysian has released Scrum, an Irish-style Dry Stout. Here is the press release about the partnership and the the beer.

To celebrate the partnership, Elysian and the Seattle Seawolves teamed up to create  a rugby-inspired collaboration beer, Scrum. A deceptively easy-drinking 5.0 percent ABV Irish Dry Stout, Scrum features deep, roasty aromas combined with a light, smooth mouthfeel and fruity esters of berries, apricots and bananas.

Beer and rugby fans alike can enjoy Scrum on tap at Starfire Stadium in Tukwila, Wash. as well as at all Elysian pubs and select rugby bars on January 27, the Seawolves home opener.
