Reuben’s Brews gets the band back together for its anniversary

Releasing this week, a collab beer from Reuben’s Brews, Fort George Brewery, and Great Notion Brewing.

To commemorate its 10th anniversary year, Reuben’s Brews is releasing a series of 10 collaboration beers specially brewed for the occasion. (See our post about the plan.) The third beer in the series hits the streets of Portland, Oregon on Thursday, March 10th. Seattle gets its shot at Dream Team Hazy IPA on Saturday, March 12th.

For this beer, the Seattle brewery got the band back together and collaborated with two old friends: Fort George Brewery and Great Notion Brewing. It’s not the first time the three have collaborated; they worked together on the 2017 iteration of 3-Way IPA.

“We’re getting the team that made waves with a certain 2017 collaboration back together for another run at greatness,” said Reuben’s Brews in a social media post, referring to the 3-Way IPA collaboration.

Dream Team Hazy IPA is described as packing “grapefruit, passionfruit, white wine, and stone fruit flavor across a very soft, very light, and pillowy hazy IPA. At 7.2% ABV, this brew is engineered to drive up the aromatics. Pilsner malt, plus flaked and malted oats, and flaked rice meet Cryo Simcoe, Nelson Sauvin, and Riwaka hops alongside Citra Incognito.”

“With this new collaboration we didn’t just want to recreate the beer we brewed five years ago, so we focused on trying to recapture the magic that made that collaboration a success,” said Reuben’s Brews Co-Founder Adam Robbings. “We’ve all learned a lot since then, and we all brought new ideas to the table this time around. It felt like the old days, just having fun,  trying new ideas, playfully one-upping each other.”

“This team created a truly innovative beer together in 2017 that helped usher in the Hazy ‘New England IPA’ style here on the West Coast,” said Fort George Brewery Co-Founder Chris Nemlowill. “We all love pushing the boundaries, and this year’s collaboration is an innovative evolution of what we created back in 2017.”

“It’s a real honor to come together again as part of the Dream Team, said James Dugan, co-founder/brewer at Great Notion. “We’re all good friends on and off the court, and this collaboration reflects that. We  just really enjoying playing together.”

Portland beer fans can join the brew crew on Thursday, March 10th from 4:00-7:00 as Dream Team Hazy IPA makes its world debut at John’s Market. Join in as members from all three teams celebrate the release.
