For the last four years, Seattle’s Populuxe Brewing has operated out of its tiny Ballard taproom with much of the crowd happily spilling out into the spacious beer garden. For the past year the company has been working on opening a new, larger space right next door to the existing location. At long last, Populuxe Brewing will open the doors to its new, larger space at noon on Saturday, September 23rd.
“These seats have been empty for way too long but we finally received word that we can open our doors at our new location (directly across the yard from our old location) this Saturday,” announced co-owner Amy Besunder.
To celebrate, Populuxe will give away free trucker hats to the first 25 people to come through the door. The event also serves as the official release for this year’s fresh hop beers, which are described below.

Fresh Hop Citra Pale – 5.7% ABV
An ode to one of our favorite hops, the fresh hop Citra Pale exhibits all of the classic flavors and aromas of the season. Crisp, citrusy, fresh, bitter and bold! Brewed with 13 pounds of fresh Citra cones per barrel, picked the morning of the brew day. Also available in cask with additional fresh Centennial hops!
Fresh Hop Farm House – 5.5% ABV
A Scandinavian style farmhouse ale brewed with ample amounts of Loral hops for a spicy, floral, fruity and complex fresh hop experience. Pilsner and wheat malt combine with wild yeast from Norway to create a unique beer steeped in tradition and fresh hops!
The arcade will be fully operational and open for fun!
