New brewery moving into Peddler’s location, other new breweries too

Below, I share some news about new breweries, as well as news about breweries on the move.

Peddler/Bickersons/Ballard – First up, as I reported here, Peddler Brewing’s owners decided to leave the industry and close the brewery. The brewery, located in Seattle’s Ballard Brewery District, was for sale. According to rumors on the street, there was quickly a potential buyer lined up. Today, I share the news that Bickersons Brewhouse of Renton, Washington appears to be the answer to the question so many people have asked. This news is fresh, so stay tuned.

The news about the pending sale of Peddler Brewing comes to us via licensing information filed with the Washington Liquor and Cannabis Board, so it’s a matter of public record. The parties involved have no comment at this point. I will have more info about this development as soon as it is available. For now, learn more about Bickersons Brewhouse here.

MIRAGE coming to GeorgetownMIRAGE is a brewery of some renown around Seattle. As a brewery with, essentially, no public-facing presence beyond its beers, MIRAGE has always been something of an enigma — no wildly crowded taproom on Saturday afternoons. Most people don’t even know where the brewery is actually located. According to posts on social media as well as public records, MIRAGE intends to open a location in Seattle’s Georgetown neighborhood. That’s all I know for now. I will keep you informed as this plays out.

From Instagram.

Griffin Brewing & Pilot House opens in Enumclaw – A new brewery and taproom opened earlier this month in downtown Enumclaw. Judging by the company’s Instagram posts, Griffin Brewing uses a pretty sophisticated two-barrel system to produce the beer. Also, it is curiously close to the Griffin and Wells Cafe, which opened in 2016.

Bellevue Brewing’s Second Location – As I reported here, Bellevue Brewing Company intends to open a second location: a new brewery and taproom in the Spring District, a new retail/residential development in Bellevue. The company has now applied for the liquor license, which is a key step in bringing the plan to life. We’ll keep an eye on this project as it comes together

Bizarre Brewing – When the day comes, you’ll find Bizarre Brewing very near Dirty Couch Brewing in the industrial part of Seattle’s Magnolia neighborhood. As of this time, that’s all I know — they’ve applied for licensing at that location.

Here Today Brewery – As I reported in this story, Here Today Brewery is an ambitious project that will see a brewery and restaurant open near the Seattle waterfront. The company has now applied for its microbrewery license, a key next step and a sure sign that things are getting close. I’ll keep an eye on it and I’ll keep you informed.
