Maize and Barley announces monthly Brewer Dinners, starting Feb. 9th

Maize and Barley, a beer-focused bar and eatery in downtown Edmonds, recently announced that it will host a monthly Brewer Dinner series. One Sunday per month they’ll close the restaurant and offer we close down the restaurant and offer a five-course, paired beer dinner with a local brewery. First up, Matchless Brewing on Feb 9th. Other upcoming events will feature pFriem Family Brewers, Fort George Brewing, and Aslan Brewing.

According to the event webpage, “On this night we close the restaurant, pull out all the stops on chef and let him get nuts in the kitchen while somewhere across town a brewer is scheming and planning several special brews to highlight the night’s food. A sumptuous 5 course paired dinner with 5 6-9oz pours designed in collaboration with our featured brewer. Menus reflect seasonal offerings. Please plan for about 2 hours to fully enjoy your dining experience, seating begins at 5pm.”

“Back in the fall, our pFriem rep approached me about doing these dinners, stating we have a great intimate and open space for it with the right amount of seating to keep it intimate and lowkey enough to focus on the beer and food,” said Venus Forteza, proprietor at Maize and Barley. “Of course, I waylaid him on this until I felt that as a business we were dialed-in and ready to take on the next level…”
