Local Artist Earns National Attention and Recognition from Pabst

Seattle-based artist, and craft beer industry veteran, selected from over 7,000 entrants in the Pabst Art Can Contest

I usually focus on craft beer, but there is always room for exceptions when I think one of the bigger beer companies is doing something cool like this. Each year Pabst Blue Ribbon hosts its annual Art Can Contest, which gives emerging artists from all over the world an opportunity to have their original artwork decorate 140 million cans and bottles of PBR across the country.

Earlier this year, Pabst announced that one of the winning designs came from Andrew Martinez, a Seattle-based artist and musician. Martinez was one of the 10 winners selected in the Pabst Art Can Contest. There were over 7,000 entries this year.

After spending years working in the craft beer industry, including time at Tractor Brewing in Albuquerque, Andrew Martinez has now set out to pursue art and tech, to further his creative abilities and help companies and communities. He dreams of helping to design the products he engages with and decorating the world he lives in.

Congratulations to Andrew Martinez. Since folks who regularly read this blog are unlikely to go hunting for Pabst, sharing this story here seemed the least I could do.
