Last call! Kill the Kegs Weekend at Counterbalance Brewing

As we previously reported, Seattle’s Counterbalance Brewing is going out of business. The co-founders and business owners, Jeff Howell and Frank Lawrence, hoped to find a buyer looking for a turn-key brewery but that hasn’t happened, so they’re moving on. After more than seven years, this weekend marks the end of the brewery’s run. They’ve got a lot of stuff planned for this Friday and Saturday. Join them for the brewery’s Kill the Kegs Weekend.

It’s sad to see Counterbalance Brewing go but these days the beer biz is increasingly difficult to navigate. In messages and conversations, the owners do not bemoan any one thing or any one set of circumstances; rather, they talk about the growing challenges of the industry as a whole. We wish them nothing but the very best as Jeff and Frank move on to their next adventures.

Kill the Kegs Party September 30-October 1

The final days of operation for the taproom at Counterbalance Brewing Company will be 3-9pm Friday, September 30 and Saturday, October 1. We hope you’ll join us for the last weekend with food trucks, games, extended outdoor beer garden, and your final opportunities to fill growlers, grab canned Counterbalance beer, and have a few pints with us!

Come in and hang out for chances at giveaways and prizes throughout the weekend, and all remaining merchandise, tap handles, coozies, glassware, etc. will be available while it lasts.

It’s been a privilege to run this brewery for almost 8 years, and we’re grateful to be able to share one last weekend with all those who have supported us.

Cheers,
Jeff and Frank
