Introducing Cosmic Bottles, tavern and bottleshop in Covington

Welcome, Cosmic Bottles, happy to have you aboard!

“We built out in the middle of covid with all the struggles and delays — we almost didn’t open at all,” said Brogan Adams of Cosmic Bottles. “We opened on March 17th, 2021.”

Along with beer lovers in Covington, Washington, we are glad they did open!

Today we would like to welcome Cosmic Bottles as a new sponsor of the Washington Beer Blog. Located in Covington, they’re more than a bottle shop. They call themselves a “cross between a high-end convenience store and a tavern.” They have 24 taps of thoughtfully curated beer and cider, many from local producers. A quick look at their current tap list gives you an idea of the variety of selections on draft, from fruited sours to hazy IPAs and imperial stouts.

More recently, they are also offering an expanded food menu. In the past, they offered a menu of hot dogs, tacos, authentic Louisianna-style po boys, and bar snacks. Now they’ve added more food options including pizza and wings.

As the name suggests, you can grab a beer to go from their coolers, or take beer to go in a growler. The tavern license means they are 21 and up, but they do welcome well-behaved dogs. There’s plenty of seating at the bar, plus indoor table seating and a covered outdoor patio. The location is just east of the Hwy 18/Kent Kangley interchange, and they have ample free parking.

Frequent events include trivia night, bingo, night markets, live music, and standup comedy. Watch for special events too, like special Mardi Gras food, seafood boils, and summertime parking lot parties.

We have family in the Covington area, so we’ve stopped by for a pint and a bottle. Now we have a new reason, and we will be in soon to check out the expanded food menu. If you’re in the neighborhood, we suggest you do the same. Thanks, Cosmic Bottles, for your support of the Washington Beer Blog.

Here are some other things Cosmic Bottles wants you to know about:

Cosmic bottles by design is bright, clean, friendly, and fun. We have a very “cosmic” space theme in our decor and absolutely love all things space and science.

We take pride in being a place anyone should feel safe and welcomed. We offer free wifi and plenty of space for folks that might want a break from working at home.

We listen to our community and try our very best to stock our 36 feet of beer fridge with great beer from right down the street to halfway across the world.

We have an ever-rotating 24 taps, 5 of which are dedicated to different kinds of cider. We also have been branching out into wine with a small but respectable selection of bottles and 5 options available by the glass.

Cosmic bottles also has a fun and inventive kitchen with delicious, fun and space-themed hot dogs, authentic po boy sandwiches, and tacos. I was born in Louisiana and Cajun/creole cooking is an unavoidable part of our menu and flavors.

As of this week (January 2023), we made a hefty investment into the kitchen and are proud now to have added some pretty fantastic pizzas and chicken wings! I am constantly changing the menus and adding specials.

Cosmic bottles also is host to quite a few different events. Most notably, our monthly comedy shows and our Night Market featuring 6-10 different local makers selling jewelry, soaps, lotions, art and other pretty great hand-crafted items. The night market is held each 2nd Thursday of the month. We do not charge our makers anything to come and sell at this event and if people are interested to sell at the night market, email info@cosmicbottles.com for more info.

We also host live music a couple of times each month as well as brewery nights/tap takeovers. And Golden Tee tournaments.

A couple of times a year we also have a Louisiana-style seafood boil with over 200lbs of seafood.

We’re located in Covington right off highway 18 with an easily accessible large parking lot.
