In a previous post, we told you about Goat Fest at Varietal Beer Co. in Sunnyside, Washington. It’s basically a day dedicated to one style of beer: bock. The event features beers produced by a group of hand-selected breweries. Ones that Varietal feels will do a good job representing the style.

Why bock? Why goats? Why spring? Because bock is the German word for goat and goats are historically associated with fertility and amorous behavior, which is often associated with rites of spring. And thus, goats are associated with bock and bock is associated with spring. Goat Fest.
