Garden Path Fermentation in Burlington, WA is releasing its first 100 percent spontaneously fermented beer this Saturday, January 2nd: The Spontaneous Ferment. A lot of beer aficionados have been waiting patiently for this one, whether they knew it or not.

The beer is a blend of three batches of coolship-inoculated beers from the winter of 2018. If spontaneously fermented beers and coolships are the kinds of things that stir your mash, then you won’t want to miss this one.

Along with releasing its own spontaneously fermented beer, Garden Path will tap into some beers from their favorite spontaneous producers, including Jester King Brewery (Austin, Texas), De Garde Brewing (Tillamook, Oregon), and Gueuzerie Tilquin (Brussels, Belgium). Don’t know about Tilquin? Read this.

About Garden Path Fermentation

Located in the beautiful rural Skagit Valley in Northwest Washington, Garden Path Fermentation makes hyperlocal beer, mead, cider, and wine only using ingredients sourced from our own backyard. We exclusively use Skagit-grown grain, fruit and honey, Pacific Northwest hops, and ferment all of our products in oak with 100% native Skagit yeast. Our process draws on old-world brewing and winemaking techniques from a variety of traditions, which we reinterpret and adapt to take maximum advantage of the Skagit Valley’s abundant resources and temperate climate.
